Conference objective:

The aim of the conference is to present the latest achievements in the field of drawing and exchange of scientific experience and research work.

Conference topics:

Regarding the subject matter of the conference following issues will be discussed:

  1. Properties, microstructure and quality of wire rod, steel wires and non-ferrous wires
  2. Wire products – requirements, applications and properties (cables, springs, fasteners, bimetallic wires)
  3. Drawing lubricants – directions of development
  4. Modern and innovative methods of drawing (hydrodynamic dies, rolling cassettes, modern die constructions, dieless drawing)
  5. Wires surface layer (roughness, internal stresses)
  6. Heat and surface treatment of wires and wire products
  7. Metal products manufactured using modern forming processes

Call for papers:

Papers qualified to be presented at the conference and submitted for the poster session will be published in a special edition of the quarterly “Prace Instytutu Metalurgii Żelaza ” (Transactions of the IMŻ). The quarterly is indexed in the BazTech, PBN and ICI World Master List. 7 points are awarded for publication in ” Transactions of the IMŻ” (list B of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education).

Organizers:

The International Drawing Association MSC in Poland is the first WAI branch in theworld outside the USA. The final decision on the creation of the Wire Association International – Poland Chapter was made at theWAI board meeting in Atlanta. By decision of the District Court in Katowice on May 8, 2002, the organization was entered into the National Register of Associations: “The International Drawing Association in Poland”. The place was decided to be established at the Czestochowa University of Technology. In this way, the entirety of work and effort put in by the academic staff of the Polytechnic in the development of Polish technical thought and promotion on the world stage was honored. The aim of the Association is to promote the development of the Polish metal, tractor, cable and other industries related industries and its promotion,while cooperating with leading centers in this field in theworld.

Institute for Ferrous Metallurgy originates from Stanislaw Staszic Scientific and Research Institute founded with resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Poland dated April 29, 1945. The Institute is a legal entity and its activity is subject to an independent financial settlement. The mission of the Institute is rendering scientific research, consulting and training services for steel producers, steel users and public institutions involved in the steel business.
